Client: Minority Rights Group International
Project overview: The website is dedicated to journalists, students, NGO workers involved in communications and all those who engage with the topic of migration. We have created a graphic design that immediately evokes associations with the aesthetics of a printed daily newspaper. We gave the photos an illustrative style reminiscent of stills from a movie. The two main sections, articles and checklists, are clearly distinguished by two different color dominants.
Features: newspaper look, glossary with automatic tooltips, interactive checklists.
In the texts of the articles there were many terms that required definitions. That is why a separate Glossary was created, arranged alphabetically. To help make the Glossary even more practical, we created integrated tooltips that can be added to specific phrases all across the site. In any post on the Covering Migration page, visitors can hover or tab a phrase that is highlighted to see a definition. Each definition includes a link to the Glossary.

The website presents a set of checklists that can be used by reporters and journalists. We have added an option to download each checklist in PDF format. You can also mark each of its items interactively, on-line.

To help make the Glossary even more impactful, we created integrated tooltips that can be added to specific phrases all across the site. Visitors can hover or tab a phrase that is underlined to see an explanation. Each explanation also includes a link to the Glossary, where they can read more.
